LVN: psych facility.. ask all questions you may have because report is minimal and it gets very very busy! Pre pop meds, lots of patients so I suggest starting popping and setting up immediately.. all paper charting. Keys for everything!!! & no one seems to know what key goes where. Lots of work, definitely think they should pay more for what the workload is. Bring your coffee and get lots of sleep . Meds missing, and things I can’t remember after such a draining shift!

As soon as I got there, I was given a very unsafe assignment of over 60 patients for an a.m. shift , 3 carts for one nurse and then they started explaining I had to do charting and weekly, etc not worth risking my license.

Can this be reported I mean isn’t agains the law to give that many patients to a nurse?
Nope… SNIFS are not regulated unfortunately… I even reported it to clipboard and they don’t care. They just say we are independent and able to make our own decisions. Keep your loved ones out of sniffs as much as possible last resort

staff are very friendly but it can easily become overwhelming. NOC shift has both stations (almost 100 patients). not as intense as it sounds but regardless too much for 1 nurse, all MAR and documentation are on paper.

100?!
No Sunday that's too many.
Wow Just the signing off 100 charts on paper is insane. Whats the med pass like for early 6:30 meds?

You have one charge nurse for 11-7? So then why is the pay so low? $45-50 should be minimum.
