This facility is very disorganized. I came and they didn’t have my PCC log in set up so I went nearly the whole shift without having access to patient records and on top of that I had to send a patient out without being able to see pertinent info. This is Assisted living but what they don’t tell you is that you’re also responsible for patients in the independent living apartments and cottages and they have no supervisor present for overnight. It’s literally one nurse and two CNAs having to oversee the entire facility. NEVER AGAIN!!

Wow, that’s way too much liability for a nurse if something were to go wrong. Not risking my license for a place that doesn’t want to properly staff its facility. Thanks for the tip.

Here’s the revision with that detail included: --- This morning was extremely stressful. We had 13 patients, but only two CNAs on shift. Upon arrival, the maintenance staff unintentionally directed me to the wrong area, which added to the disorganization. The schedule was chaotic, and I did not receive a thorough briefing on the patients, including their levels of alertness or cognitive status. The workload was overwhelming for just one person to manage effectively. Additionally, there was no hot water, which made it even more difficult to provide proper care. Most of the patients require more than basic assistance, as many are in long-term care and need skilled nursing support. Given the conditions, I would not recommend anyone work in such an environment. Proper staffing and resources are essential to ensure patients receive the care and dignity they deserve, especially for those nearing the end of life.

I was informed that I would be the only aide on duty. The Nurses were incredibly supportive, and a kind lady from a different floor even came to help. It's rare to encounter such a dedicated and caring team nowadays. Their willingness to help wasn't just about aiding me; they genuinely care about their residents, which is truly remarkable.

My experience at House Of The Good Shepherd was pleasant. The nurse was warm and welcoming. Even the over night staff Betsy was helpful.
