*Join Hygieia as a* *LVN Contractor* *Position Overview:* Hygieia is seeking licensed LVN contractors to provide care for ill, injured, or recovering patients, as well as individuals with disabilities, in home settings and similar facilities. Contractors may work under the supervision of a registered nurse. A valid LVN license is required. *Key Responsibilities:* * *Patient Observation:* Monitor patients and document changes in their conditions, including adverse reactions to medications or treatments, and take necessary actions. * *Basic Care:* Provide essential patient care tasks such as measuring vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse), dressing wounds, treating bedsores, and assisting with personal hygiene. * *Equipment Sterilization:* Ensure all medical equipment and supplies are properly sterilized using germicides or autoclaves. * *Patient Support:* Respond to patient calls, assess their needs, and determine appropriate assistance. * *Sample Collection:* Collect samples (blood, urine, sputum) and conduct routine laboratory tests. * *Healthcare Collaboration:* Work collaboratively within a healthcare team to assess patient needs, plan care, and implement interventions. * *Clerical Duties:* Manage appointments, maintain patient records, and perform clerical tasks in medical offices or clinics. * *Patient Preparation:* Prepare patients for examinations or treatments and clearly explain procedures. * *Room Maintenance:* Ensure medical treatment rooms are orderly and that patients are comfortable; instruct family members on basic nursing tasks. * *Equipment Setup:* Assemble and use medical equipment, including catheters and oxygen supplies. * *Outcome Evaluation:* Assess the effectiveness of nursing interventions and communicate with other healthcare professionals as needed. * *Diet Monitoring:* Record patients' food and fluid intake and output; prepare or examine food trays for dietary compliance. * *Comfort Measures:* Apply compresses, ice packs, or hot water bottles as needed. * *Inventory Management:* Maintain inventory of supplies and requisition as necessary. *Qualifications:* * Valid LVN license * Experience in patient care preferred * Strong communication and interpersonal skills If you are a compassionate and dedicated LVN looking to make a difference, we encourage you to apply!
