Mission Hospice, a leader in hospice care for over 27 years, is seeking compassionate registered nurses for on-call as needed hospice visits. *FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:* * Performs comprehensive nursing evaluations. * Assess for signs and symptoms of discomfort including presence of pain and takes prompt and appropriate action. * Initiates plan of care, provides appropriate nursing care. * Instructs and educates family and caregivers in managing and meeting patient care needs. * Through skilled nursing care, implements the approved plan of care, modifies as needed, and contacts physician/ RN administrator on-call, as appropriate. * Demonstrates flexibility in scheduling, able to work at least 2-3 days per week * Observes for safety hazards in the patient’s environments and takes appropriate steps to reduce or eliminate them. * Completes timely documentation. * Complies with hospice policies and procedures, laws and regulations and standards of practice. * Field based position, driving is required. *REQUIREMENTS:* * Active RN license * CPR BLS * Able to pass a criminal background and driving record check *SCHEDULE:* * Available at least 2-3 days per week to work nights and or weekends on-call * 5pm to 12 AM, 12 am to 8 am or a combination of these hours. *AREA OF COVERAGE:* * Looking for nurses in the areas of Los Angeles, South Bay, San Gabriel Valley, San Fernando Valley and Pomona/ Upland. *PAY:* * On-call rate: competitive pay for being on-call * Hourly rate: paid from call-out to completion, including travel time * 12 am to 8 am differential shift pay for visits * Paid by the hour, not per visit. *Requirements:* * CA RN license * Hospice experience preferred * Driver's License * Reliable transportation * Comfortable working independently *Details:* * Contracted position (1099), not W-2 * Flexible scheduling, evenings, nights, weekends * Supportive team environment * All new hires , including contracted staff, must go through training regardless of experience Job Type: Contract Pay: From $60.00 per hour License/Certification: * BLS Certification (Preferred) * RN (Required) Work Location: In person
