*HEMODIALYSIS CHARGE NURSE – JOB DESCRIPTION * *Position Summary* The Charge Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and on-shift clinical coordination for dialysis treatments delivered in SNF/Sub-Acute settings. This role functions primarily as a working nurse and participates in patient care activities while supporting safe and efficient treatment operations during assigned shifts. This is a non-exempt position and is eligible for overtime in accordance with California labor laws. Reports to: Regional Clinical Manager FLSA Status: Non-Exempt (Hourly) Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Direct Patient Care (Primary Function) *Performs pre-, intra-, and post-dialysis patient assessments.*Initiates, monitors, and discontinues hemodialysis treatments per physician orders.*Performs AVF/AVG cannulation and CVC access in accordance with policy.*Monitors vital signs and patient response to treatment; intervenes appropriately.*Accurately documents all treatment data, assessments, and interventions.*Notifies provider and leadership of significant patient condition changes.*Administers medications as ordered and within scope of practice.*Ensures proper infection control practices are followed.*Assists with emergency response situations during dialysis treatments.* Shift-Level Clinical Coordination *Serves as clinical point of contact during assigned shift.*Communicates with SNF staff regarding dialysis scheduling and coordination.*Ensures dialysis equipment is operational and prepared prior to treatments.*Assists in maintaining adequate supplies for safe treatment delivery.*Provides guidance to dialysis staff during treatment activities as needed.Note: This role does not have authority to hire, terminate, discipline, or independently evaluate employees.* Documentation and Compliance *Ensures accurate and timely completion of dialysis treatment records.*Participates in audits and quality initiatives as requested.*Attends required in-services and staff meetings.*Follows all company policies and CMS Conditions for Coverage. Renal Management Group Job Description –SNF Program Charge RN- Non-Exempt Hourly February 25, 2026 Page 2 of 2 Scope of Authority The Charge RN: *Does not independently hire, fire, or discipline staff.*Does not approve payroll, mileage, or timesheets.*Does not set budgets or staffing ratios.*Does not independently implement company policy changes.*Provides feedback regarding staff performance to leadership when requested.* Work Schedule *Scheduled shifts may include 10–12 hour shifts.*Overtime may be required based on patient census and operational needs.*Must clock in/out in accordance with company policy.* Physical Requirements *Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 12 hours).*Ability to lift up to 35 pounds unassisted.*Ability to bend, reach, stretch, and move dialysis equipment.*Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations.
