Hospice Volunteer *Company:* Reliant Home Healthcare Services *Location:* [Insert Location] *Position Type:* Volunteer Position Summary The Hospice Volunteer provides compassionate companionship and emotional support to patients receiving hospice care and their families. Volunteers play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for patients by offering comfort, social interaction, and assistance with non-medical activities. This position supports the mission of Reliant Home Healthcare Services by promoting dignity, respect, and compassionate care during the end-of-life journey. Key Responsibilities * Provide companionship and emotional support to hospice patients. * Engage patients in conversation, reading, music, games, or other meaningful activities. * Offer respite support to family caregivers when appropriate. * Assist with administrative tasks, special events, and community outreach activities as needed. * Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations. * Document volunteer visits and activities according to agency guidelines. * Attend required volunteer training and ongoing educational programs. * Report any patient or family concerns to the hospice care team. Qualifications * Must be at least 18 years of age (or as required by agency policy). * Compassionate, dependable, and respectful demeanor. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures. * Completion of hospice volunteer orientation and training. * Background check and health screening may be required. Physical Requirements * Ability to travel to patient homes, assisted living facilities, or nursing facilities. * Ability to sit, stand, and engage in light activities with patients.
