*NURSE (LVN) Schedule * is Monday to Friday 7:30am - 3:30 pm with subject to change as things adjust. *JOB SUMMARY/ROLE: * Oversee the functions of the Rancho San Antonio Boys Home Inc. (RSA) Infirmary department such as medical services and assessment, coordination of treatment, referral to physicians, dentist, and other medical providers. Provide services from a trauma informed perspective. Maintain electronic health records and collaborate with treatment team and provider community to ensure youth are receiving proper medical care. Ensure compliance with state and county requirements. Responsible for following RSA medication management policy and procedures at the facility and reviewing and monitoring medication management. Medication management is an important component of care and treatment services. RSA has developed an effective and safe medication management system that includes, planning, storage, ordering, preparing, and dispensing, administration, monitoring, and evaluation. Provide trauma-informed, culturally sensitive therapeutic intervention within scope of practice to youth and families in collaboration with the Child Family Team (CFT). Utilization of the Integrated Core Practice Model (ICPM) in the treatment of the youth. Trauma Informed Care (TIC) includes primarily the use of RSA’s selected Trauma Informed Care model of Attachment, Regulation, and Competency (ARC) model. *SUPERVISED BY: *Residential Director and Director of QA/QI *QUALIFICATIONS:* 1. BA or equivalent 4-year degree or 100 hours experience working with children. 2. Active current and clear LVN License with the California Nursing Board. 3. CPR/First Aid certified as well as Pro-Act certified. 4. Supervisory level experience. 5. 6. Education and experience in the field of nursing. 7. Knowledge of psychotropic medication, safe medical practices, medication policies and procedures, medication documentation standards and requirements. 8. Knowledge of Medi-Cal billing, and upkeep of Medi-Cal status. 9. Knowledge of Los Angeles County DMH and Medi-Cal procedures. 10. Familiarity with electronic health records, preferably Exym. 11. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. 12. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 13. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organizations. 14. Ambulatory experience or Urgent Care experience. *JOB DUTIES:* 1. Responsible for following Rancho San Antonio Boys Home Inc. (RSA) medication management policy and procedures at the facility and reviewing and monitoring medication management. 2. Implement effective and safe medication management system that includes, planning; storage; ordering; preparing and dispensing; administration; monitoring; and evaluation. 3. Learns and utilizes ARC trauma informed care model interventions appropriate to role and scope of practice (for example: Attunement, Engagement, and Resiliency Building, etc.). 4. Serves to role model the use of ARC principles, Integrated Core Practice Model (ICPM), and use of the Child and Family Team (CFT) interventions. 5. Respond to emergency health care needs of the clients. 6. Responsible for overseeing the general well-being of the children and following up with all medical concerns. 7. Supervision, protection, and care of children individually and in groups at all times. Care and supervision of residents requiring bed rest. 8. Provide strength-based and culturally sensitive behavior support, intervention and limit setting per RSA’s policy and procedure. 9. Utilize ARC trauma informed principle of Caregiver Affect Management to be aware of staff’s own emotional responses to youth behaviors so as to meet the needs of the youth and underlying needs of the youth behaviors. 10. Collect and record data specific to the health status of clients. Communication with therapists, direct care staff, parents, school administration and physicians relating to health and medication issues. 11. Knowledge and implementation of agency policies procedures and treatment philosophy. 12. Provide health care instruction and training to individuals and staff relating to the promotion of health and wellness. 13. Knowledge of Medi-Cal documentation and billing, knowledge of upkeep of Medi-Cal status on residents, communication with outside medical providers and services. 14. Provides a spectrum of mental health services for populations of all acuities. The agency focuses primarily on providing care to low-income, high at-risk youth and families. 15. Write timely documentation notes on each session with clients in RSA electronic health record (Exym). 16. Ambulatory experience or Urgent Care experience *PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:* In the course of performing this job, the incumbent must be able to lift heavy objects and be able to interrupt physical altercations. Will also require bending, stooping, filing, frequent sitting, twisting, typing, talking, hearing and repetitive motions. Occasional traveling, driving, walking, standing, grasping, pulling, pushing, and reaching.
