Overview: Purpose Statement/Position Summary: The LVN provides essential nursing support to the ambulatory programs within the division, ensuring efficient patient flow, thorough patient intake, and proper maintenance of clinic facilities. This role includes delivering forward facing patient care when needed to support a positive and safe patient experience. The LVN is responsible for relaying messages to providers—with particular attention to the epilepsy patient population—to ensure timely communication and continuity of care. Additional duties include medication management, form completion, and managing heavy call volumes coming into the clinic. The LVN follows all applicable policies and procedures related to handling supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment, while supporting the overall operational efficiency and clinical excellence of the division. Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience: 1+ year pediatric nursing experience, preferred. Organizational skills. Experience with patients who have neurological conditions, preferred. Education/Licensure/Certifications: Completed licensed vocational nurse program. Current license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of California. Current AHA CPR card. IV certificate from the California state board and Phlebotomy certification preferred. Pay Scale Information: CHLA values the contribution each Team Member brings to our organization. Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education and experience within the job or the industry. The pay scale listed for this position is generally for candidates who meet the specified qualifications and requirements listed on this specific job description. Additional pay may be determined for those candidates who exceed these specified qualifications and requirements.
