About the Role: The Registered Nurse in Medical Surgical/Telemetry plays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care to individuals with a variety of medical and surgical conditions, including those requiring continuous cardiac monitoring. This position involves comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care tailored to each patient's unique needs. The nurse collaborates closely with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and safety. Additionally, the role demands vigilant monitoring of telemetry equipment and timely recognition of cardiac arrhythmias or other complications. Ultimately, the nurse contributes to enhancing patient recovery and satisfaction through compassionate, evidence-based care and effective communication. We have both days and nights available Minimum Qualifications: Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state or jurisdiction. Completion of an accredited nursing program (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing). Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience as a RN in med surg or Tele unit, OR experienced in LTACH subacute or acute Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification. Previous experience working in a telemetry or medical-surgical unit. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams. Responsibilities: Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings accurately to inform care plans. Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols. Monitor patients continuously using telemetry equipment, promptly identifying and responding to cardiac events or changes in condition. Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and adjust patient care plans. Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, treatments, and post-discharge care to promote health and prevent complications. Maintain accurate and detailed medical records in compliance with legal and institutional standards. Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to infection control and safety guidelines. Skills: The required skills enable the nurse to perform comprehensive patient assessments, administer treatments safely, and monitor telemetry data effectively to detect cardiac abnormalities. Critical thinking and clinical judgment are essential for making timely decisions in dynamic patient care situations. Communication skills facilitate clear interactions with patients, families, and healthcare team members, ensuring coordinated care delivery. Preferred skills such as proficiency with EHR systems streamline documentation and information sharing, enhancing workflow efficiency. Additionally, certifications like ACLS empower the nurse to respond confidently to cardiac emergencies, improving patient outcomes.
