Job Description
*Job Summary* Valley Manor is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities, autism, and/or other medical conditions, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life. You will work closely with clients to assist them in daily activities, promote independence, and foster a supportive environment. *Duties* * Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities and autism in various settings. * Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. * Monitor patient behavior and health status, documenting any changes or concerns in accordance with HIPAA regulations. * Implement individualized care plans tailored to each client's needs and preferences. * Engage clients in social and recreational activities to promote socialization and skill development. * Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients, ensuring all safety protocols are followed. * Collaborate with families, healthcare providers, and other professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients. *Skills* * Strong understanding of patient monitoring techniques and direct support practices. * Experience working with individuals who have developmental disabilities or autism is highly desirable. * Knowledge of CPR and first aid procedures. * Ability to provide compassionate care while maintaining professional boundaries. * DSP I and DSP II training is a plus. * Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and team members. * Basic cooking skills to assist clients in meal preparation as needed. * Commitment to upholding HIPAA regulations and maintaining client confidentiality.
