This is a good opportunity for someone who may have worked with IHSS in the past. This is a caregiver SLS job for a female who can show up on time and maintain a regular schedule without disruptions, who is calm, patient, and knowledgeable about people on the spectrum also experiencing mental stress. Fluent English is required for this role. No criminal record, you will be fingerprinted and bg checked. You have a car that you control, a valid California DL, and insurance. Ideally you have a BS, but AA and hs diploma will be considered with relevant experience. Ideally you have real, verifiable experience working with disabled/ neurodivergent with real, verifiable references. Non-smoker The job is 40 hours per week with some overnights as part of your shifts, but flexible. You will be a full time employee with an SLS agency that offers paid training and certification in CPR if you are not already certified. Be able to commit for a minimum of 6 months. Be dependable. Thank you! *Duties* * Be a steady, attentive, and awake companion in the home for this client * Observe client needs and safety * Prompt and guide medication adherence * Assist with meal preparation and clean up * Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces * Support the client with friendship and understanding, you may be needed to drive the client to appointments *Skills* * Proven experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings with a focus on senior care or developmental disabilities * Strong knowledge of patient care practices including vital signs monitoring, patient observation, and medication management * Certified in CPR and First Aid (employer will supply if you don't have certification yet); experience with autism support is highly desirable * Ability to work independently while following detailed care plans, ability to follow instructions well is a must * Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and team members * Physical stamina for heavy lifting tasks and assisting with mobility * Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care that promotes dignity and independence Pay: $22.00 per hour Benefits: * Paid orientation Education: * High school or equivalent (Preferred) Shift availability: * Day Shift (Preferred) * Night Shift (Preferred) * Overnight Shift (Preferred) Work Location: In person
