*Overview* The Home Health Aide plays a crucial role in providing compassionate and personalized care to individuals in their homes or community settings. This position involves assisting clients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and safety, and promoting their overall well-being. Home Health Aides work closely with healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality care tailored to the unique needs of each client, including those with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, or other memory-related conditions. *Duties* * Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. * Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for clients. * Monitor and document vital signs, including blood pressure and pulse, as part of ongoing health assessments. * Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to medication schedules. * Assist with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. * Perform light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe living environment. * Support clients with specialized care needs such as catheter care, hospice care, or dementia care. * Maintain accurate medical documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations and assist in managing electronic medical records (EMR/EHR systems). * Collaborate effectively with family members and healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care. *Skills* * Strong patient observation skills to identify changes in client conditions. * Experience in assisted living or nursing home settings is preferred. * Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation practices. * CPR certification is a plus; knowledge of vital signs monitoring is essential. * Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or those requiring memory care. * Ability to provide compassionate caregiving while respecting client dignity and privacy. * Proficient in cooking nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs. * Capable of performing light cleaning tasks to maintain a hygienic environment for clients. * Understanding of long-term care principles and home health practices.
