Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) – Home Health Company: A.F.F.R.E.E.C.A. Home Health & Community-Based Services Location: Los Angeles County (Patient Homes) Position Type: Full-Time / Part-Time / Per Diem Position Overview A.F.F.R.E.E.C.A. Home Health is seeking a compassionate and dependable Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) to provide supportive, hands-on care to patients in the comfort of their own homes. This role is essential in helping patients maintain dignity, independence, and quality of life while receiving care outside of a facility. As a CHHA, you will work closely with nurses and the care team to assist patients with daily living activities and basic health needs in a one-on-one home setting. Key Responsibilities * Provide personal care services in patient homes under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) * Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting * Support mobility, transfers, and safe ambulation * Assist with light housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe environment * Help with meal preparation and feeding as needed * Take and record vital signs (if trained and assigned) * Observe and report changes in patient condition to the supervising nurse * Provide companionship and emotional support to patients and families * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided * Follow all home health regulations and infection control protocols Work Environment * Care is provided directly in patients’ homes (non-facility setting) * Travel required within assigned service area * Flexible scheduling based on patient needs * Independent work with support from a clinical team Qualifications * Active California Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification * Current BLS/CPR certification * Minimum 6 months to 1 year of caregiving experience (home health preferred) * Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to work independently and follow care plans * Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license Preferred Experience * Experience in home health or hospice care * Familiarity with infection control and patient safety practices * Experience assisting patients with limited mobility or chronic conditions Why Join A.F.F.R.E.E.C.A.? * Mission-driven organization focused on equity, accessibility, and empowered care * Opportunity to build meaningful, one-on-one relationships with patients * Flexible schedules that fit your lifestyle * Supportive team environment with growth opportunities Compensation & Benefits * Competitive pay (based on experience and case type) * Flexible scheduling options * Mileage reimbursement (if applicable) * Opportunities for continued training and advancement How to Apply Apply directly online at: https://affreeca.org/careers Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, PRN, Contract, Per diem Pay: $23.96 - $28.85 per hour Expected hours: No less than 10 per week Benefits: * Flexible schedule Work Location: In person
