*Job Type:* [Full-time/Part-time/Contract] *Job Summary:* The Private Duty Nurse provides personalized and professional nursing care to individuals in their homes or other private settings. The role involves working closely with patients and their families to deliver high-quality care tailored to the specific needs of each individual. *Key Responsibilities:* * *Patient Care:* Provide direct nursing care, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and managing medical equipment. * *Assessment and Planning:* Assess patient health status, develop individualized care plans, and adjust care strategies as needed. * *Communication:* Maintain clear and ongoing communication with patients, family members, and healthcare providers regarding care plans and patient progress. * *Documentation:* Accurately document patient care, including medical histories, treatment plans, and any changes in health status. * *Support:* Assist with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, to enhance patient comfort and independence. * *Coordination:* Coordinate with other healthcare professionals, including physicians, therapists, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care. * *Education:* Educate patients and their families about medical conditions, treatment options, and care techniques. * *Emergency Response:* Respond to medical emergencies promptly and effectively, and provide first aid as needed. *Qualifications:* * *Education:* Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with relevant certifications. * *Experience:* Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in a private duty or home care setting. * *Skills:* Strong clinical skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and the capacity to work independently. * *Certifications:* Valid nursing license in the state of employment, CPR certification, and any other relevant certifications. * *Personal Traits:* Compassionate, patient, and attentive to detail, with the ability to manage stress and adapt to changing patient needs. *Working Conditions:* * *Environment:* The role is typically performed in patients’ homes or other private settings, which may involve travel between locations. * *Hours:* Flexibility in hours is often required, as care may be needed during evenings, nights, and weekends.
