*Job Overview* We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities and autism. In this vital role, you will foster independence, promote well-being, and ensure safety in a variety of settings such as group homes and while out in the community. Support is based on each individual's needs and goals. Your dedication will help enhance the quality of life for those you serve while building meaningful relationships rooted in respect and trust. *Job Requirements* * 18 Years or older * High School Diploma or GED * Physical and TB Test required * Certification in CPR and First Aid is required * Background clearance through Live Scan *Responsibilities* * Assist individuals with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, meal preparation, and medication management. * Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs and assist with meal planning and cooking to promote healthy living. * Administer medications following care plans and document all medication administration activities precisely. Assist with medical appointments when needed. * Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties, laundry, and ensuring compliance with health standards. * Support individuals during community outings or activities to foster social engagement and independence. * On going daily notetaking with documentation of any changes in usual behavior or health status or anything else pertinent to the individuals. * Prior experience working in group homes or individuals with disabilities and challenges will be helpful. * Minimum of 12 hours of training required a year. After 1 year, 35 hours of DSP training is required by all care facilities vendored through Regional Centers. After year 2, 35 more hours of DSP training is required. (Online classes are offered) * A caring attitude combined with patience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to providing respectful support are fundamental qualities for success in this role.
