Description: The PRN Infusion Registered Nurse provides skilled, patient-centered nursing care in the home setting for patients receiving IVIG and other specialty infusion therapies. This role is responsible for administering infusions, monitoring patient responses, educating patients and caregivers, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary care team to ensure safe, compliant, and high-quality care. This position requires strong clinical judgment, expertise in infusion therapy, and the ability to work independently while adhering to California nursing regulations and company policies. Requirements: Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform in-home infusion nursing services, including IVIG, biologics, enzyme replacement, and other specialty therapies as ordered by the physician. Conduct comprehensive patient assessments prior to infusion, including medication history, vital signs, venous access evaluation, and risk assessment. Safely initiate, monitor, and discontinue peripheral or central venous infusions according to physician orders and established protocols. Monitor patients during and after infusion for adverse reactions; respond appropriately to infusion-related complications and emergencies. Provide patient and caregiver education related to infusion therapy, medication side effects, infection prevention, disease management, and devices used such as pumps, if applicable. Accurately document all patient assessments, infusion records, medication administration, and clinical notes in a timely manner. Maintain compliance with California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) standards, state and federal regulations, and agency policies. Communicate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, care coordinators, and clinical leadership regarding patient status and care needs. Maintain required supplies, infusion equipment, and medications in a safe and organized manner. Participate in required training, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives as assigned. Required Qualifications Active, unrestricted California Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum 1–2 years of recent infusion therapy experience, preferably in home health or specialty infusion Demonstrated experience with IVIG administration Current BLS (CPR) certification Strong venipuncture skills; experience with PICC lines, ports, and other central venous access devices Ability to work independently in a home-based environment Valid California driver’s license, current auto insurance, and reliable personal vehicle required (nurses will use their own vehicles to travel to patient homes) Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform job-related physical activities Preferred Qualifications Home health or ambulatory infusion experience Experience with specialty pharmaceuticals and biologics Knowledge of infusion-related adverse reactions and emergency response Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems BSN preferred Schedule & Work Environment PRN /As Needed; hours vary based on patient census and scheduling needs. Daytime, evening, and weekend availability may be required. Work performed in private patient homes throughout assigned service areas.
