*Position Summary* The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality, patient-centered nursing care in an ambulatory surgery center specializing in interventional pain management procedures. The RN supports pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases of care, ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and an exceptional patient experience. *Key ResponsibilitiesPre-Operative Duties* * Conduct patient intake, assessment, medical history review, medication reconciliation, and vital signs. * Confirm pre-procedure instructions and NPO status; verify consent. * Start IVs, administer ordered medications, and prepare patients for procedures. * Communicate procedure plan and expectations to patients to reduce anxiety. *Intra-Operative Duties* * Assist physicians during interventional pain procedures such as epidural steroid injections, facet injections, SIJ injections, radiofrequency ablation, spinal cord stimulator trials, and peripheral nerve blocks. * Maintain a sterile environment and adhere to infection-control protocols. * Manage sedation monitoring, airway safety, and continuous vitals (depending on your center’s sedation policy). * Circulate, document, and ensure availability of supplies/equipment (fluoroscopy, RFA generator, ultrasound, crash cart). *Post-Operative / Recovery* * Admit patients to PACU and monitor hemodynamic status until discharge criteria are met. * Perform pain assessments, manage post-procedure symptoms, and provide discharge instructions. * Document all recovery milestones and communicate any concerns to the provider. *Clinical & Administrative Responsibilities* * Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EMR. * Comply with ASC and regulatory standards (AAAASF/AAAHC/TJC, CMS, OSHA). * Participate in QI activities, infection control reporting, crash cart checks, medication logs, and emergency preparedness drills. * Support efficient patient flow and teamwork with MA/tech staff. * Assist with inventory, medication management, and stocking rooms. *Qualifications* * Current RN license in the state of practice (unencumbered). * BLS required; ACLS preferred (or required depending on sedation protocols). * Minimum 1 year of experience in OR, PACU, ED, ICU, procedural sedation, or pain management preferred. * Knowledge of sterile technique, moderate sedation monitoring, and fluoroscopy-guided procedures (preferred; will train). * Strong communication, patient-education, and critical-thinking skills. * Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, outpatient procedural environment. *Working Conditions* * Outpatient ASC setting; no nights, weekends, or major holidays (adjust if needed). * Physical demands include standing, lifting, and assisting patients. * Exposure to fluoroscopy radiation; must follow safety protocols. Pay: $35.00 - $45.00 per hour Work Location: In person
