*Nursing Assistant Job Description* *Job Overview* We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Nursing Assistant to provide high-quality care to patients in various healthcare settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in long-term care, assisted living, or hospital environments, and possess a strong commitment to enhancing the well-being of those they serve. As a Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting patients with daily activities, monitoring their health, and ensuring their comfort. *Responsibilities* * Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating. * Monitor and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse. * Provide basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff. * Assist with mobility and transfers using equipment such as Hoyer lifts. * Maintain cleanliness and safety in patient rooms and common areas. * Document patient care activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems. * Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members regarding patient needs and progress. * Support patients with special needs including those with developmental disabilities or dementia-related conditions. * Participate in training programs to enhance skills in areas such as phlebotomy, medication administration, and aseptic techniques. *Experience* Candidates should possess experience or familiarity with the following areas: * Critical care experience or ICU experience is preferred. * Long-term care experience in nursing homes or assisted living facilities is highly valued. * Hospital experience including emergency medicine or urgent care settings is beneficial. * Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and HIPAA regulations is essential. * Familiarity with EMR systems such as Epic or Cerner is advantageous. * Experience working with geriatric populations or individuals receiving hospice care is a plus. * Previous caregiving roles involving pediatrics or behavioral health can be beneficial.
