Field Assistant – Mobile Wound Care Support (California) Hiring in: Los Angeles, Orange County, San Diego, Inland Empire, San Jose, San Francisco, Sacramento, and surrounding areas Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time | Hourly (Non-Exempt) Reports To: Director of Clinical Operations Mobile Field-Based Healthcare Assistant – Work Alongside Licensed Wound Care Providers Omni Wound Physicians (OWP) is actively hiring Field Assistants across California to support our mobile wound care providers (MDs, NPs, and PAs). This role offers a unique opportunity to ride with licensed providers to skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), and private residences, supporting both clinical setup and non-clinical administrative functions in the field. This is a great fit for certified healthcare professionals looking to build experience in mobile medicine, wound care support, or post-acute care. Minimum Qualifications Must meet one of the following: Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Currently hold BLS Certification Key Responsibilities Clinical Field Support Travel with a provider (MD/NP/PA) during shift to visit patients at multiple sites Set up sterile wound care fields, transport supplies, and assist with wound photography Provide respectful, safe assistance to patients in long-term care and residential settings Follow infection control protocols and maintain patient confidentiality Administrative Responsibilities Confirm appointments and ensure site access ahead of scheduled visits Upload wound photos to EMR and tag metadata (as delegated) Maintain mileage logs, visit tracking, and shift documentation using company tools Perform all assigned tasks during paid company time only Communicate with the care team using Slack, Gmail, and Google Workspace Restock field kits and report low inventory or supply issues Ensure compliance with OWP company policies and procedures, including HIPAA, timekeeping, and professionalism HIPAA & Confidentiality Compliance Handle all protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA regulations Report suspected data loss or unauthorized disclosures immediately Access, store, and transmit clinical data only through secure and approved platforms Complete required HIPAA and safety training provided by OWP Scheduling & Travel Travel up to 40 miles per shift with the assigned provider Adapt to route changes and patient scheduling adjustments throughout the day Represent OWP professionally in all interactions at facilities and residences Scope Limitations OWP team members in this role: Do not diagnose, assess, or treat medical conditions Do not administer medications or perform procedures independently Must perform only those duties within their legal certification or delegation scope Must be supervised by a licensed provider (MD/NP/PA) at all times May not perform any work-related duties outside of scheduled, paid hours This position complies with California Business & Professions Code and related MA/CNA practice limitations.
