Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate, attentive, and engaging caregiver for an 80-year-old male client located in Malibu, CA. He is fully mobile and values his independence deeply — the ideal caregiver will respect that while keeping him safe and supported every step of the way. *About the Client:* * 80 years old, 5'7", 145 lbs * Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease (diagnosed at age 59) and a hernia which causes him periodic pain * Fully mobile but at extreme fall risk — rocks while standing * Standby assistance required at all times during standing and movement; do not be overbearing * Requires transfer assistance when necessary * Sharp, social, and loves conversation and card games *Caregiver Responsibilities:* * Standby assistance with showering and dressing (client can perform these independently but safety supervision is essential) * Personal care and hygiene support * Meal preparation — morning, noon, and dinner (client follows an anti-inflammatory diet) * Medication reminders — morning and evening * Assist and encourage daily walks and range of motion exercises to maintain strength and mobility * Light housekeeping including laundry, linen changes, vacuuming, and maintaining a clean home environment * Transfer assistance when needed * Accompany client on errands and doctor's appointments as needed * Engage client in conversation, card games, and other social activities * Care for a small dog *Important Notes:* * Client rocks while standing — always remain at his side during standing activities without being overbearing * Preserving the client's independence is the top priority * Caregiver must be engaging, patient, and socially active — this client thrives on connection *The ideal candidate for this role is someone who understands the balance between safety and independence. This client is sharp, social, and motivated to stay active — he doesn't need someone to do everything for him, but someone who will be his partner in maintaining the quality of life he deserves.
