*Position Summary* The In-Home Day Service Support Staff provides *one-on-one, person-centered support* to adults with developmental disabilities who are unable to attend traditional day programs due to medical, mobility, or functional needs. Participants in this service are often *lower functioning and may require full assistance* with daily living tasks, communication, mobility, emotional regulation, and personal care. Staff work in the participant’s home and surrounding community to provide meaningful, safe, and engaging activities tailored to the individual’s ability level. *Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPersonal Care & Daily Living Support* Staff may be required to assist participants with: * Feeding assistance * Changing, toileting, or incontinence care * Dressing and grooming support * Repositioning and wheelchair safety * Maintaining a clean, safe environment * Encouraging hygiene and routine participation *Program Engagement & Activities* Support staff will: * Provide sensory-based and calming activities * Staff will: * Create and lead *fun, engaging activities* such as games, crafts, music, movement, and sensory activities * Use simple household items to create activities (cards, puzzles, Play-Doh, art supplies, board games, videos, etc.) * Encourage participation in *daily routines and life skills* * Support social interaction, communication, and emotional well-being * Provide companionship, encouragement, and positive engagement * Assist with light personal care as needed (varies by individual) * Support individuals who may use wheelchairs or have limited mobility * Follow individualized plans and daily schedules * Complete *daily documentation* accurately and on time *Safety & Supervision* * Provide constant supervision to ensure participant safety * Follow mobility, transfer, and equipment safety protocols * Monitor for signs of discomfort, distress, or overstimulation * Follow emergency procedures as trained *Documentation & Communication* * Complete daily notes and service documentation * Communicate important information to supervisors * Report any incidents following Title 17 Special Incident Reporting guidelines *Required Skills & Qualities* * Patience, compassion, and a calm demeanor * Ability to support individuals who are non-verbal or have limited communication * Comfort assisting with feeding, changing, and personal care tasks * Ability to work independently in the home setting * Good judgment and reliability * Strong understanding of professional boundaries and confidentiality *Training Provided* All GTI staff receive training in: * Title 17 requirements * In-Home Day Services protocols * Emergency preparedness * SIR (Special Incident Reporting) * Person-centered practices * Safety, mobility, and communication support * Documentation standards *Work Environment* Services are delivered *in the participant’s home and local community*. Staff must be comfortable working with lower-functioning adults who may have significant care needs and require consistent, hands-on support.
