Job Description

*Job Overview* We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caregiver DCS/DSP with experience with special needs population to provide essential support to individuals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those they serve. This role requires a blend of practical caregiving skills, empathy, and the ability to work independently while following care plans. *Responsibilities* * Assist clients with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation. * Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment. * Monitor and document vital signs and changes in client health status. * Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. * Perform light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe living environment. * Assist clients with mobility using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. * Engage clients in social activities and encourage participation in community events. * Support individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, and memory care needs. * Collaborate with healthcare professionals and family members to ensure comprehensive care delivery. *Qualifications* * Previous experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group home settings is preferred. * Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor changes in client conditions effectively. * Familiarity with caregiving practices including CPR, First Aid, HIPAA regulations, and medication administration. * Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with diverse populations including seniors and individuals with disabilities or autism. * Physical capability to perform heavy lifting and assist clients with mobility challenges. * A compassionate demeanor with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. * Certification or training in caregiving or related fields is a plus but not required.
