Caregiver for Assisted Living/Board & Care/RCFE Home *Location:* Valley Village *Employment Type:* Full-Time / Part-Time *Shift:* Morning / Afternoon / Overnight. Multiple shifts a day providing 24/7 care *Reports To:* Administrator / Licensee *Overview* We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, hardworking and experienced Caregiver to provide high-quality personal care and assistance to elderly residents in our licensed 6-bed RCFE/Board and Care home. The Caregiver is responsible for supporting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), medication assistance, companionship, and maintaining a safe and clean home-like environment in compliance with California Department of Social Services (CDSS) regulations. *Key ResponsibilitiesResident Care* * Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs): * Bathing, grooming, and personal care and hygiene * Dressing and undressing * Toileting and incontinence care * Assist with moving and transferring residents in and out of beds, wheelchairs, and throughout the premises * Feeding assistance * Provide medication management and assistance * Ongoing monitoring and documentation of residents’ physical, emotional and mental conditions and reporting changes immediately * Assist with turning and repositioning to prevent bed sores * Support residents with memory care needs *Health & Safety* * Maintain a safe and sanitary environment * Follow infection control procedures * Respond appropriately to medical emergencies * Assist with evacuation procedures when necessary during emergencies and disasters * Document services provided per facility policy * Comply with mandated elder abuse reporting requirements under California law *Household Duties* * Daily housekeeping in resident rooms and common areas * Laundry services for residents * Preparing, cooking and setting up meals for residents *Professional Conduct* * Maintain and promote resident dignity, privacy, and confidentiality * Communicate effectively with residents, families, medical care team and staff * Adhere to Title 22 RCFE regulations and facility policies * Attend required in-service trainings * Maintain all required certifications, trainings and licenses as required by the state and facility policy *Required Certifications & Clearances * All applicants must meet California DSS/CDSS licensing standards: * Pass a Criminal Background Clearance (DOJ/FBI Live Scan) or be granted exemption from licensing * Obtain TB Clearance * Active First Aid and CPR Certification * Periodic continuing education and training required by DSS and facility policy Preferred qualifications but not required: * Dementia Care Training * Medication Technician Training *Experience Requirements* * Minimum 2 years caregiving experience preferred * Experience in Assisted Living, RCFE, Memory Care, or Home Care strongly preferred * Experience with dementia and hospice residents a plus *Physical Requirements* This position requires physical strength and stamina and the ability to safely assist elderly residents. * Ability to lift and transfer residents up to 50 lbs (with assistance when required) * Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (potentially 6-12hour shifts) * Ability to bend, kneel, squat, reach, grasp * Ability to push/pull wheelchairs and medical equipment * Manual dexterity to assist with feeding, medication, and personal care * Ability to respond quickly in emergency situations * Clear vision and hearing sufficient to monitor resident safety Reasonable accommodations may be made in accordance with ADA requirements. *Skills & Competencies* * Compassionate, friendly and patient demeanor * Strong communication skills * Attention to detail * Ability to follow written care plans and general directions * Time management skills * Team-oriented mindset * Reliable and punctual *Work Environment* * Residential home setting * Exposure to bodily fluids and potentially infectious diseases * May work weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts *Compensation & Benefits* * Competitive hourly pay depending on experience.
