*Job Summary* Join our dedicated team as a Direct Care/Facility Staff member, where you'll play a vital role in providing compassionate, personalized care to individuals with diverse needs. Supporting residents ranging from 11 - 17 yr old males, individuals with developmental disabilities, or those experiencing behavioral challenges, you will create a safe and nurturing environment. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will ensure residents receive the highest quality of life through assistance with daily activities, medication management, and emotional support. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while developing your skills in social support. *Responsibilities* * Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards. * Provide transportation for appointments or outings when required, ensuring safety during driving activities. * Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including social workers, and case managers to deliver comprehensive resident support. * Support the Administrator in the day-to-day operations of the facility assigned. * Apply the “Reasonable and Prudent Parenting Standard” to decisions involving the participation of youth in age or developmentally activities in accordance with rules, laws, and policies and procedures when the Administrator is not present. * Ensure appropriate care and supervision is delivered to all assigned youth in * Directly supervise youth as assigned. * Oversee the daily schedule of activities. * Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures of Education For Life by self all direct care staff in the assigned facility. * Maintain a safe, clean, and therapeutic environment. * Report to the Administrator and make recommendations for continuous quality improvements. * All other duties as assigned by the Administrator. *Requirements* * Prior experience working in living facilities, behavioral based homes, or home care environments is highly preferred. * Previous employment as a full-time staff member, or volunteer service at a group home, STRTP, or substance abuse treatment program for at least one year, or * Relevant life experience in the child welfare, mental health, or juvenile justice systems as a consumer, mentor, or caregiver, or other relevant experience as determined by CDSS. * Must clear a CCL, DOJ, and FBI fingerprint criminal background check * Must have a valid California Driver License and be insurable under the Agency Insurance carrier * Ability to perform physical tasks such as heavy lifting and operating assistive devices like Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs safely. * Strong communication skills for conflict management and engaging effectively with residents who have dementia or other cognitive impairments. * Valid driver’s license preferred for transportation duties; willingness to learn EMR systems is essential. * Certification in first aid and CPR is required; additional certifications in behavioral support are a plus. * Compassionate attitude with a commitment to providing respectful, person-centered care tailored to each resident’s needs.
