Marsha Fuerst School of Nursing has received approval by the Board of Registered Nurses (BRN) and has recently introduced an Associate of Arts degree in Nursing in Glendale Adjunct RN (Pediatrics) Theory Instructor wanted for Monday 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.. The Adjunct RN Theory Instructor – Pediatric Nursing is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in pediatric nursing for the Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) program through on-campus, hybrid, and/or online modalities. The instructor prepares nursing students to provide safe, evidence-based, and developmentally appropriate care to pediatric populations. Instruction must align with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Teach pediatric nursing theory in accordance with approved curriculum, course outlines, and student learning outcomes. Deliver instruction through in-person lectures, virtual classrooms, and/or hybrid formats using approved learning platforms. Facilitate engaging learning experiences including lectures, case studies, discussions, and interactive activities. Cover key pediatric nursing concepts, including: Growth and development Pediatric assessment and vital signs Common childhood illnesses and conditions Family-centered care Pediatric pharmacology and safety Health promotion and disease prevention Develop and maintain course materials including syllabi, lesson plans, exams, and online content. Utilize the Learning Management System (LMS) for posting materials, grading, communication, and tracking student progress. Evaluate student performance through exams, assignments, participation, and online engagement; provide timely and constructive feedback. Maintain accurate attendance, grade records, and documentation in compliance with institutional policies. Promote critical thinking, clinical reasoning, and application of theory to nursing practice. Foster a positive, inclusive, and professional learning environment in both in-person and virtual settings. Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, curriculum development, and professional development activities as assigned. Uphold academic integrity and ensure compliance with institutional, regulatory, and accreditation standards. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS Strong knowledge of pediatric nursing and current standards of care. Ability to effectively teach in both in-person and online environments. Proficiency with learning management systems (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle) and virtual teaching tools (e.g., Zoom, Teams). Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Effective classroom and online classroom management skills. Ability to engage diverse student populations and support student success. Strong organizational and time-management skills. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (California BRN-Compliant) Current, active, and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in California. Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) from a regionally accredited institution. Minimum of one (1) year of continuous, full-time or equivalent experience providing direct patient care as an RN in pediatric nursing within the past five (5) years. Completion of a course in teaching methodology (or willingness to complete within one year), as required by BRN. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior teaching experience in an ADN or nursing program. Experience teaching in online or hybrid formats.
