Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Medicare/MDS Coordinator is responsible for notifying and coordinating the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) for MDS assessment completion in accordance with State and Federal regulations. The position involves coordinating the Medicare/MDS resident assessment process, ensuring the Interdisciplinary Team completes the MDS Assessment in a timely manner, coordinating development, implementation and evaluation of plan of care, and coordinating and performing nursing interventions as indicated by the resident plan of care. Additional responsibilities include coordinating nursing care in accordance with infection control standards, following safety policies, coordinating emergency measures, ensuring exchange of essential information for quality resident care, maintaining documentation as required by regulations, participating in meetings and inservices, presenting a professional image, adhering to Company standards for resolving consumer concerns, and ensuring that all residents' rights are protected.
