A long-term care or geriatric nursing facility that provides orientation and in-service education programs for employees, manages resident care and rights, maintains compliance with company policies and state and federal law, and employs nursing staff including registered nurses, licensed practical/vocational nurses, and nursing aides. Provides, plans coordinates or manages orientation and in-service education for facility employees. Responsible for facility education programs, including orientation and ongoing services. Designs, plans and provides education programs on all shifts and for all departments. Participates in staff evaluation process by providing attendance records and observation of employees' performance. Provides general facility information to all new employees and ongoing in-service education. Maintains currently education records of classes and content of in-service conducted, attendance and performance of facility employees. Plans and provides annual schedule of planed education programs. Creates lesson plans containing objectives, course content, method of instruction and method of evaluation. Applies adult learning principles. If provided by the facility, conducts and maintains the nurse aide training program. In charge of the facility in absence of high ranking management.
