The Treatment Nurse Provides primary skin care to residents under the medical direction and supervision of residents' attending physicians, Director of Nursing or Medical Director of facility with an emphasis on treatment and therapy of skin orders. The Treatment Nurse assists in modifying the treatment regimen to meet physical and psychosocial needs of resident, in accordance with established medical practices, governmental requirements and Company policies and procedures. Essential duties include identifying, managing, and treating specific skin disorders and primary and secondary lesions; providing input on assessment and diagnostic services; completing weekly skin assessments; providing treatment and therapeutic services per physician orders; ensuring appropriate prophylaxis and treatment for residents with decubitus ulcers; providing information to residents and family members on prevention techniques; and providing written and/or oral reports and recommendations to attending physicians.
