The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position involves completing and filing required record-keeping forms upon resident admission, transfer, and discharge; charting nurses' notes and care plans in a clear and descriptive manner; administering medications and documenting the process in a timely and accurate manner; dealing tactfully and professionally with personnel, residents, family members, and the general public; demonstrating strong knowledge of nursing and medical practices, procedures, and relevant laws and regulations pertaining to long-term care; exhibiting leadership and supervisory abilities; planning, organizing, developing, implementing, and interpreting programs to ensure quality care; maintaining patience and cheerful disposition while handling challenging residents; and being flexible to work any shift as required. The position requires California Vocational Nurse licensure, CPR (BLS) and First Aid certification, background clearance and TB screening, a minimum of 1 year of experience in a rehabilitation setting, strong clinical and documentation skills, and excellent communication and supervisory abilities.
