Laguna Hills Health and Rehabilitation Center is a skilled nursing facility that provides routine daily nursing care to residents in accordance with federal, state, and local standards, offering services including vital sign monitoring, wound dressing, catheter insertion, and fall risk assessment, while maintaining policies on infection control, occupational exposure reporting, and resident privacy. The purpose of your job position is to provide each resident with routine daily nursing care in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards that govern the facility and as directed by your supervisors. The Licensed Vocational Nurse will treat each resident with kindness, dignity and respect, knock before entering rooms, refer to residents by name, be courteous to families and visitors, maintain a positive disposition, communicate clearly and empathetically, make sound independent decisions, work cooperatively with all departments, demonstrate patience and initiative, relate pertinent information to charge nurses, and be committed to doing the right thing. Essential duties include ensuring privacy in nursing care, checking vital signs, dressing wounds, inserting catheters, listening to residents and families, addressing questions and concerns, performing accurate charting, timely reporting of condition changes, assisting and supervising CNAs, ensuring equipment is in working order, monitoring fall-risk residents, collecting lab samples, abiding by facility policies, following infection control procedures, reporting occupational exposures, attending training programs, and completing other assignments as directed by management.
