The Medication Care Manager is responsible for providing the highest degree of quality care and services by administering medication and treatments in a safe organized manner. Responsibilities include but are not limited to administration of medications, documentation of medication administration, and providing resident care while demonstrating the Mission for Sunrise Senior Living, ""to champion the quality of life for all seniors"" in accordance with federal, state/provincial, and local laws, standards, and regulations and Sunrise Senior Living policies to promote the highest degree of quality care and services to our residents. Essential duties include medication administration, reviewing electronic health records, receiving medication updates, administering and observing medications using the Six Rights of Medication Pass, ensuring timely medication passes, documenting medication administration, maintaining confidentiality, reporting resident concerns, restocking medication carts, assessing residents for as-needed medication, counting narcotics with other staff, maintaining the medication room and carts, following refill processes, helping residents maintain independence and dignity, practicing standard care precautions, notifying the Resident Care Director of concerns, attending cross-over meetings, participating in Individualized Service Plan development, ensuring community compliance with safety regulations, practicing safety procedures including PPE use, reporting accidents and unsafe conditions, complying with infection control techniques, properly handling blood borne pathogens and hazardous materials, managing oxygen tanks, participating as a team member, attending regular meetings and training, and maintaining required certifications including CPR and First Aid.
