The Wellness Associate reports to the Wellness Director and the Wellness Manager and provides services and care to each Resident based on the individual Resident Service Plan. Essential Functions include assisting Residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, hygiene, and mobility; maintaining awareness of each Resident's physical and mental health; keeping inventory of medical supplies; assisting with shift coverage; developing assignments; orienting new staff; responding to emergencies and providing first-aid; keeping units clean; answering calls for assistance; assisting with clothing, laundry, meals, and activity programs; maintaining records; participating in 6 hours of in-service education yearly; and carrying out other assigned duties. Compliance and Safety responsibilities include following emergency procedures and understanding safety policies. Communication involves working effectively with the Wellness Director and staff, and immediately advising of health changes. Current State Nurse's Aide registration is preferred but not required; experience with seniors is needed; ability to lift up to 60 pounds and maintain positive relationships is essential. Physical requirements include bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, standing for extended periods, and potential use of a Hoyer Lift. May be required to work weekends, holidays, shifts other than hired, extended hours, and subject to exposure to infectious waste and diseases.
