Provides medication administration to residents under the direction of the nursing staff. Provides supportive and functional care to residents with routine daily care in accordance with established community care procedures as directed by nursing leadership. Works as a member of and collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team with a focus on maintaining the resident as the director of their care. The role includes preparing and administering medications, observing residents for side effects, providing medical and physical care, handling personal care needs, identifying changing conditions, participating in care planning, assisting with mealtimes, maintaining relationships with residents and families, supporting resident decision-making, assisting with therapies, maintaining privacy and HIPAA compliance, following safety procedures, documenting vital signs, responding to phone calls, and potentially serving as administrator designee when 21 years or older.
