Medicare/MDS Coordinator position description for a nursing facility Under the direction and supervision of the Director of Nursing Services, the Medicare/MDS Coordinator is responsible for notifying and coordinating the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) for MDS assessment completion in accordance with State and Federal regulations. The role involves coordinating the Medicare/MDS resident assessment process, ensuring timely MDS assessments, developing and evaluating care plans, performing nursing interventions, maintaining documentation, and providing professional consumer service in a long-term care setting.
