Registered Dental Hygienist

Prior dental office experience preferred We are looking for a spirited hygienist that is passionate about oral health and health centered dentistry to join our team. The position is flexible between one half day per week up to 2 days per week. We are a general dental office, located on upper Market Street between the Castro and Duboce Triangle -- What We Offer -- - Competitive compensation based on competence and experience - Part-time employment in a highly collaborative work environment - 401k retirement plan, Health Insurance, PTO -- Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities -- - Patient screening procedures; such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, dental and periodontal charting - Taking digital dental radiographs (x-rays) and intraoral photos - Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) and staining from all surfaces of the teeth - Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g. fluorides, varnishes) teaching patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; - Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health documentation of procedures and scheduling follow-up/re-care appointments -- Requirements -- - Friendly and positive attitude - Customer service oriented - Works effectively as a team member - Highly motivated, organized, and detailed oriented - Capable and results-driven - Reliable and responsible - Comfortable working with technology - Strong verbal and written communication skills - Knowledge of general administrative and clerical procedures - Fluent in English -- Education and Experience -- - Registered Dental Hygienist license - Tech-savvy Salary: looking forward to discussing possibilities
